Frequently asked questions

How do I activate my subscription after purchase?

After completing your purchase through Polar, your account is automatically upgraded. Sign in at testbudy.com and download the desktop app — it will detect your subscription automatically when you log in.

Which operating systems are supported?

Testbudy is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Head to the Downloads page to grab the latest version for your platform.

I didn't receive my confirmation email. What do I do?

First check your spam or junk folder. If it's not there, go to the sign-up page and use the 'Resend confirmation email' button. Make sure you're checking the inbox for the exact email address you registered with.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Log in and go to Dashboard → Account → Manage Subscription. This opens the Polar customer portal where you can cancel or modify your plan at any time. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period.

Can I get a refund?

We offer refunds within 7 days of purchase if the app does not work on your device and our support team is unable to resolve the issue. Contact us at [email protected] with your order details.

The app isn't launching / crashing on startup. What should I do?

Try these steps: (1) Make sure your OS is up to date. (2) Uninstall and re-download the latest version from the Downloads page. (3) On macOS, ensure the app is allowed in System Settings → Privacy & Security. If the issue persists, email us with your OS version and any error messages you see.

Is Testbudy allowed to be used during exams?

Testbudy is a study and practice tool, not an exam cheating tool. Use of Testbudy during any proctored, closed-book, or otherwise restricted assessment is a violation of our Terms of Service and, more importantly, your institution's academic integrity policy. We do not support or condone academic dishonesty in any form.

How do I update to the latest version?

The app will notify you when an update is available. You can also manually check by downloading the latest release from the Downloads page and installing it over your existing version.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Go to the Sign In page and click 'Forgot password?' Enter your email address and we'll send you a secure reset link within a few minutes.

My subscription shows as active but the app says I'm on the free plan.

Try signing out and back in on the desktop app. If that doesn't work, email [email protected] with your account email and we'll manually verify your subscription status.
